The new fourth generation microprocessors are set to release in June, 2013. However Intel has demonstrated the technology based on Haswell architecture which is set to deliver more performance than Ivy Bridge chips, a huge improvement in graphical side where it promise to give up to 50% better video rendering than 3rd generation. Above all it will consume 50% less power with an amazing low power demands for idle state processors that will enable it to run on a very low voltage which is 0.05A or 0.6 W. Haswell now utilize C6 and C7 power states at minimum 0.05A which was 0.5A in Ivy Bridge processors. Not all power supply will be compatible with the power requirements and only PSU that will deliver stable current for 4th generation Haswell processors will work. Since the power requirements are different from current Ivy Bridge, Sandy Bridge compatible PSU, the big names in the power inverter industry started delivering compatible models so they can work with fourth generation Haswell processors.
Haswell Compatible Power Supply Models:
After the specification release of Haswell processors and its incredible performance in terms of low power consumption, all major Power Supply manufacturers are coming up with Haswell compatible PSUs (power supply unit) which will be ready to work for new computer build with 4th generation processor chips.
Corsair Power Supply:
Corsair has announced new range of PSUs that will work flawlessly with Intel Haswell microprocessors. This list includes 20-30 power supplies that are 100% compatible with Core-i family 4th generation processor chips. Corsair reveals around twenty new PSUs that are 100% Haswell ready for lowering down the energy consumption. The fully Haswell power supply series includes AXI, AX (Gold, Platinum), HX (Silver, Gold, HX1000), HX (Legacy Bronze), TX-M, TX, GS (Current V3, Legacy V2, Legacy V1), CX-M, CX, VX, VS.
Thermaltake Power Supply:
Since the launch of the Haswell technology, Thermaltake also worked on compatible power supply units that will work in a way to reduce power consumption of the CPU during the sleep mode. 4th generation Intel processors will need C6 and C7 states to consume only 0.05A of electricity. So new thermaltake PSU will be high efficiency power units for decreasing 12V load. Thermaltake Haswell compatible power supply series includes Toughpower Grand (platinum, Gold), Toughpower. Toughpower XT, Evo Blue and Smart M.
CoolerMaster PSU:
Haswell ready CoolerMaster PSU includes V series line of power inverters, these are advanced and highly efficient PSU that are build to deliver stable electricity to computers. V series units will be available in three models: 700, 850 and 1000 watts.
OCZ Power Supplies:
OCZ has five series of power supply units for next-generation Haswell Processor. These includes the Z, ZX, Fatal1ty Gaming, Mk II Silencer, Mk III Silencer line of OCZ products.
